When professional interim leadership is appropriate, IES can provide a selection of seasoned leaders with the requisite skills and knowledge to assess and implement the actions needed to stabilize and strengthen the organization. Our clients can then use their own evaluation process to choose the interim leader who will fit best with their culture and needs. Once selected, we work with our client and the candidate to agree on the main objectives to be pursued during the transition. We also assign a Partner Liaison to support both the client Board and the Interim Executive Director throughout the entire engagement. Through the IED and Partner Liaison, organizations have access to supplemental services to support strategic visioning, staff development, improved information reporting and more.
Our goal is to ensure that an organization maximizes the opportunity presented by a transition of leadership. Throughout the process we work closely with the Board and the staff to implement the necessary strategies and to stay focused on the mission. The length of an assignment is flexible since it is often hard to predict when the organization will be ready to begin the search and how long it will take. While IES does not provide formal Executive Search services, we do provide regular progress updates and work collaboratively with the search team, often providing an assessment of the qualities and capabilities to look for in the ideal candidate.
