Joe Patuleia

Inspired by his experience as a kid growing up in challenging circumstances, Joe’s life’s work has been dedicated to constructively and meaningfully address youth development via holistic and educational needs, particularly of those who are  disadvantaged.

Joe has served as a teacher and high school principal, as well as an executive director of youth development nonprofits. His wide range of experiences has led him to become a results-oriented, problem-solving and collaborative leader. As a result of his success as a leader in education, Joe was nominated Mass Principal of the Year in 2004; as a leader in the nonprofit arena, Joe was honored as Madison Square Executive Director Emeritus in 2017. His in-depth experience, innovative approaches and strong leadership have catalyzed transformative changes within schools and nonprofit organizations.

Joe’s background includes two Master’s Degrees, including one from Harvard, and the Advanced Leadership Program in Executive Leadership, at the University of Michigan and taught by Dr. Noel Tichy. He is particularly experienced in management, resource development, capital campaigns, and program assessment.

A particular highlight of Joe’s nonprofit career is his work as the Executive Director of Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, the culmination of which was a successful $90M Capital Endowment Campaign for a new clubhouse and headquarters in Harlem. Currently Joe is focused on Interim Executive work and consulting for education and nonprofit organizations.
