Katie Allan Zobel is the founder of Prosper & Bloom, a strategic consulting firm committed to building capacity in the social sector through coaching non-profit executives and their leadership teams in strategic fundraising, board development, succession planning, and other critical leadership issues.
In 2022, Katie finished a decade of service as President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts (CFWM) and, for the eight years prior, she shared the position of Vice President of Philanthropic Services with a job-share partner and together they were part of the team that launched a region-wide, 24-hour giving day that raised over $1M each year for a total of over $10M in six days.
During her time as CEO, Katie led the CFWM through a major evolution as the Foundation’s Trustees endorsed a new strategic vision and priorities centered on increasing equity and opportunity. During that same time, the financial assets of the Foundation more than doubled, from $100M to $250M, and the staff doubled in size. She has deep knowledge and skill in individual gift fundraising, nonprofit governance, and strategic planning. Katie is committed to learning and systems changes to increase equity, inclusivity, and cultural humility.
Prior to joining CFWM, Katie was a member of Amherst College Alumni and Development team for 10 years, serving in a variety of fundraising roles, and was director of annual giving for WGBY/Public Television (now NEPM) earlier in her career. She currently serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in the Massachusetts foster care system, is a member of the Town of Amherst’s Community Preservation Act Committee, and is a member of the Cynthia A. Lyons Center for Equity in Urban Education Advisory Board at Elms College. Katie was named one of the inaugural Women of Impact award recipients by BusinessWest. Katie holds a B.A. in English from Boston College and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation from the American College.
