Susan Reardon

Susan is an experienced nonprofit leader with a 35+ year career leading Washington, DC area nonprofits and professional associations. She specializes in helping organizations strengthen their financial stability, rebuild staff and leading boards of directors to better governance and effective strategic planning.

Susan served for 7 years as Director of Finance for the League of Women Voters of the United States, 15 years as Executive Director of the American Foreign Service Association, 4 years as Executive Director and Executive Vice President of the National Chamber Foundation at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and 10 years as Chief Executive Officer of the Military Operations Research Society.

Earlier in her career Susan focused on leading and coordinating computer courses at the University of Missouri St. Louis and the USDA Graduate School in Washington, DC.  Her background in technology significantly enhances her ability to lead organizations through technological improvements.

Her broad experience has included managing government relations, public and media relations, publications including magazines, books and peer reviewed journals, scholarship funds, government and corporate grants, and government contracts. Susan has managed complex events including annual conferences, training programs and classified meetings. Fundraising, consulting with diverse stakeholders and developing relationships with high-level government officials has been a constant feature in all of Susan’s leadership positions.

As a leader Susan is known for her calm and collegial style and flexible and creative problem solving. Combined with strong organizational and management skills, Susan can quickly bring into focus a path forward. She has spent her career working with boards of directors and navigating and enhancing board and staff relations.

Susan holds a BA from the University of California Santa Cruz and an MBA from Virginia Tech.

Active in her community in Arlington, VA Susan has served on the board and as Chair of the Arlington Food Assistance Center and currently serves on the boards of the USS Arlington Community Alliance and the Rivercrest Civic Association.
