Lori Gordon

Lori Gordon has over 30 years of nonprofit and public sector experience leading finance, grant management and operations functions with such organizations as WGBH Educational Foundation, Third Sector New England, Inc. (TSNE) and UMass Boston. Lori’s last role was Director of Fiscal Sponsorship at Third Sector New England where she led the program which supported over fifty mission-based small to medium size organizations with back office supports as well as training and networking programs which helped organizations build internal capacity and develop strategies for longer term sustainability and growth.

Immediately prior to her arrival at TSNE, Lori was the Director of Finance and Administration at Interise, Inc., a national nonprofit in the economic development space whose flagship program is an executive MBA program for small business entrepreneurs in low- to moderate-income and/or historically disadvantaged communities. At Interise, Lori implemented a new decentralized budget process, formerly held by the CEO, with a focus on revenue projections that fully incorporated the knowledge and insights of all department managers. At UMass Boston, Lori served as the Sr. Manager of Finance & Administration for the largest research institute on the campus, the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI). With over 95% restricted funding, Lori developed a cost allocation plan to allow for most costs to be charged directly or indirectly to federal and state grants and contracts.

Lori received her undergraduate degree in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University and her MBA with a concentration in nonprofit and public management from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University. She is SHRM-SCP certified, which recognizes management experience and leadership in human resources.
