I’m a trained (Third Sector’s and Support Center’s Interim Executive Institutes) and experienced (30+ years of nonprofit leadership) Interim Executive, with several successful interim assignments.
Previously, I served as CEO for the Junior State of America, Associate Director at Post Carbon Institute, Executive Director of Common Cause Massachusetts, and Communications Director for the Coalition of Essential Schools, Oxfam America, and the Institute for Defense & Disarmament Studies.
For more than 30 years I’ve helped build “a democracy where everyone is received.” A graduate of Harvard Kennedy School and a former journalist, I blend a wide-ranging understanding of theories, practices, and people with firsthand experience on the ground, in the legislature and courts, and in boardrooms.
I’ve been fortunate to learn with people who address injustices, bridge differences, build community, and develop leadership…with an emphasis on the rising generation. I’ve been doubly fortunate to have mentors and colleagues help me develop my capacity to support belonging.
