David Raphael is a seasoned nonprofit executive and consultant with over 40 years of leadership experience, including 17 years as an executive director and four engagements as an interim executive director. He specializes in organizational development, strategic planning, board governance, and fund development. A skilled facilitator and coach, he brings a proven track record of guiding organizations through transition and building effective leadership teams.
A graduate of SUNY Albany and the Columbia University School of Social Work, David spent 30 years in the Hillel movement including roles as Director of Hillel at Temple University, Assistant International Director, Executive Director of Hillel of Greater Baltimore, and Senior Campus Liaison for Hillel International. He was the founding Executive Director of the Floortime Foundation (an organization seeking to explore new approaches to treating autistic children) and the Jewish Grandparents Network.
David’s specialized training includes a certificate in Non-Profit Board Consulting from Board Source, a Master Facilitator Certificate from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, a five-course Foundations of Positive Psychology Specialization from the University of Pennsylvania (Coursera) and a Certificate in Strategic Planning from the National Center of Non-Profit Boards. He was a Hartman Hillel Fellow and was recognized as an International Hillel Exemplar of Excellence.
