Cynthia King Vance supports organizations with a social mission as an executive, advisor and board leader. She is passionate about using her strategic, financial, operational and team leadership experience to enable organizations to reach their full potential for impact.
She served as the Interim CEO of New York Public Radio in 2023, where she had previously been a trustee and Board Chair. Other prior non-profit Board leadership positions include Montefiore Medical System/Einstein School of Medicine, EDC (Education Development Center), the Chelsea Westminster NHS Trust (London), Read to Lead, SCO (family social services), REDS (pre-K) and ICD (disabilty).
Cynthia has led projects to strengthen urban, public education outcomes for the New York City Department of Education, the Newark Public Schools and CUNY. Cynthia served as the senior deputy to the Interim President of Hunter College for the 2023-24 academic year. She has created and taught classes in Entrepreneurship and Public Policy at Hunter College and CUNY’s Macaulay Honors college since 2015.
Earlier in her career Cynthia was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, the CFO of a media company in London and an investment banker. She is a graduate of Princeton University (BA, Public and International Affairs), and of the Harvard Business School (MBA).
