Anton N. Andrew is a nonprofit executive, attorney, and strategic advisor with more than 25 years of leadership across the justice, education, and public policy sectors. He brings deep expertise in executive transition, organizational development, government relations, and equity-centered change — and a track record of securing transformational partnerships at the intersection of government, philanthropy, and civil society.
Anton has served as Executive Director of Justice at Work, a statewide legal services nonprofit, where he secured a $10M+ strategic partnership with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office — the largest grant in the organization’s history. As Education and Advocacy Fellow at the Pennsylvania Prison Society, the nation’s oldest human rights organization, he secured the first recurring state budget appropriation in the organization’s 234-year history through bipartisan coalition building and strategic legislative engagement.
Earlier in his career, Anton served as Special Assistant to the President at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, advising on institutional priorities and facilitating a historic $34.5 million federal-state partnership. As a Specially Appointed Public Defender in Miami-Dade County, he achieved a 70% reduction in juvenile transfers to adult court through systemic reform and interdisciplinary advocacy.
Anton also brings significant board leadership experience, including nearly two decades as Board Chair of Open Connections, where he guided the organization through a founder transition while doubling revenue and growing enrollment by 30%. He has served as a Trustee of The Nature Conservancy (PA & DE Chapter) and holds board experience across education, conservation, and human services organizations.
A certified mediator and experienced facilitator, Anton has led board retreats, leadership development engagements, and community dialogue initiatives, including the “Beyond Our Bubble” civic engagement series. He currently teaches Race & American Law at Lincoln University, the nation’s first degree-granting HBCU.
Anton holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a licensed attorney in Florida and the District of Columbia.
