Terri Goldberg

Terri Goldberg has brought a strategic vision combined with a wide array of practical skills and experience to all of the non-profits she has worked for. She currently supports organizations as a consultant, volunteer, and Board member. She was the Executive Director and Deputy Director for the Northeast Waste Management Officials’ Association (NEWMOA) for more than 22 years. During that time, she worked tirelessly to help the organization lead the northeast toward a sustainable and waste-free future. She has extensive experience facilitating strategic planning efforts, developing organizational policies and programs, supporting Boards, writing government and foundation grants, recruiting members and sponsors, conducting other fundraising activities, managing finances, facilitating state and federal government engagement, collaborating with other stakeholders, overseeing event planning, and preparing a wide range of documents. She co-founded and managed the successful Interstate Mercury Education and Reduction Clearinghouse (IMERC) starting in 2000 and the Interstate Chemicals Clearinghouse (IC2) starting in 2008, both under the auspices of NEWMOA. Previously, Terri worked for an environmental policy consulting firm and state and federal agencies. She was the founding Executive Director of the Council for Responsible Genetics (CRG) starting in 1982 until 1985 and was a member of the Board until 1992. She has served on a Federal Advisory Committee and the Board of the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable and currently serves on the Board of MassRecycle.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College and a master’s degree in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed mediation training in 2001, the year-long Institute for Non-Profit Practice (INP) leadership training program in 2016, the Support Center Interim Executive Director Training in 2023.
