Ron has been a transformational leader in the Boys & Girls Club movement for over 35 years. His expertise includes organizational alignment, developing superior work teams, catalyzing and leading coalitions, real-time strategic planning and execution, self-organization, solution-focused coaching, youth development, child safety and environmental/outdoor education and camp programs.
He recently served as Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Vice President of the Northeast Region and was responsible for increasing the organizational capacities and sustaining the progress of organizations in eleven states and Puerto Rico. Ron helped agencies increase board engagement, align organizational culture, develop skilled staff, increase resource development capacity, complete mergers, transition leaders and collaborate on programs to drive greater impact.
Ron is an accomplished Executive Director that more than doubled the number of youth served. He developed a talented staff; cemented partnerships with law enforcement, higher education, youth employment and mentoring programs enabling the Club to enhance and expand opportunities for members. He was a leader in a nationally recognized neighborhood revitalization that included an environmental Brownfield cleanup, 83 units of new affordable housing, a new 44,700 sq. ft. Boys & Girls Club and an adjacent synthetic turf soccer field and track.
He has also led several statewide initiatives to secure government funding and advance strategies to increase reach and drive collective impact. In Massachusetts, Ron aligned 41 autonomous Boys & Girls Club organizations to collectively measure outcome performance and served as spokesperson on statewide coalitions to address advance local agencies’ ability to provide safe access for low-income children. As a community leader Ron co-chaired a Promise Neighborhood Partnership and was a catalyst for the YouthConnect Worcester consortium. YouthConnect Worcester is a city-wide consortium of six major youth serving agencies and supporting partners that share a commitment to provide youth development opportunities to underserved and isolated Worcester youth.
He has received numerous awards and national recognition as a distinguished executive, management professional and youth development professional. He has been honored with national program excellence awards and was recognized as Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Training Associate of the Year. He was also honored for his nonprofit leadership in Central Massachusetts with the Greater Worcester Community Foundation Renaissance Award.
Ron earned Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. In addition, he completed Harvard Business School’s Performance Management for Effective Management of Nonprofit Organizations, BGCA/University of Michigan Ross School’s Advanced Leadership Program, McKinsey & Company’s Ability to Execute & Lead, and Inside Out Coaching.
