Robert Guimento, MHA, FACHE is a nationally recognized transformative healthcare executive. Throughout his career, he has led multiple hospitals, outpatient clinic systems, and related boards, medical staff, and management teams through the complexities of an ever-changing healthcare environment with vision and purpose. Most recently, Rob was a critical member of the executive leadership team at one of the nation’s premier hospital systems, New York Presbyterian (NYP), the academic teaching hospital for two Ivy League medical schools: Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University. As President of NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, Rob led a 600-bed hospital and oversaw an operating budget of $1 billion, $900 million in capital projects, 3,800 staff, and 14 accredited residency and fellowship programs. His work included realizing his vision for the opening of a new 400,000-square-foot state-of-the-art ambulatory care building, the first new health care facility construction in Brooklyn in more than four decades. He also guided the institution through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, in one of the nation’s first and most impacted communities by the pandemic.
Rob previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital, following a progression of increasingly senior strategic operational roles at NYP. In addition to his healthcare system management expertise, Rob has extensive consulting experience in capital financing, post-merger integration, and financial turnarounds, with clients including national health care systems, payers, and government agencies. Rob obtained his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University and a Master of Health Administration from Duke University.
