Reuben Romirowsky

Dr. Reuben Romirowsky is an experienced executive with 30+ years building human service organizations and growing the capacity of organizations to develop and sustain new programs that do more for the community. Reuben now offers Interim Executive Services to his consulting practice- DRR Consulting- which provides Executive Coaching, Strategic planning, Board development and training, and Fund-raising development to human service organizations that are part of the JHSA- The national Jewish Human Service Association.

Reuben prides himself on having made an organization better than when he started working there. His energetic and inclusive approach to management helped to create new Boards and invigorate mature Boards that required assistance in mission/vision alignment, re-defining Board duties and responsibilities, and finding their meaning and purpose.

Reuben has spent his entire career building community, by strengthening non-profit organizations. He has consistently led the process of assessing organizational culture and its values and aligning both management and Boards to focus on what they do best. Over the years, this has led to the development/expansion of programs and services in the areas of eldercare, counseling, domestic violence, special needs, and food insecurity that have won award recognition and generous funding for future sustainability.

Reuben has helped organizations to grow their fund-raising efforts by major gift fund-raising, developing annual campaigns, and the effective stewardship of donors to stay committed to the mission of the organization.

Over time, the ever-changing landscape of nonprofits has required healthy organizations to consider disruptive innovation, adaptation, and building Board leadership that can help the organization pivot and change. This is why strategic planning has become so exciting and meaningful for Reuben to help steward.

Reuben has a BSW in Social Work from Temple University, an MSW from Columbia University, a Program of Advanced Study from Smith College, and a Doctorate from Yeshiva University. He is married, lives in Northern NJ, and retired recently to be present in the lives of young grandchildren. He enjoys volunteering, golf, basketball, and babysitting.
