Lyn Kobsa

Lyn Kobsa is an executive strategist, community health improvement expert, non-profit board member and advisor with over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Her passion is to help non-profits achieve their mission so they can serve their community. She loves to help non-profit leaders and board members understand their current situation, assess what is working or not, and develop a plan for continued success. She is known as a thoughtful listener, skilled problem-solver, compassionate leader and trusted strategic advisor.

Professionally, she led strategic planning and community health improvement for Yale New Haven Health System for 29 years. Through this work, she led complex, board-level strategic planning processes for the health system and established the community health improvement program for the organization. Through her community health work, she developed and led the community health needs assessment processes and partnered with a range of health and human services organizations to conduct the needs assessments and develop community-driven health improvement plans. She managed teams ranging from 5 to 50 people over her career and was consistently ranked as a high-performing leader. In 2023, she became a consultant who helps non-profits with strategic planning, strategic partnerships and board development. She is trained as an Interim Executive Director.

Throughout her career, Lyn has served on numerous non-profit boards in leadership positions, through which she has re-engaged boards and improved their effectiveness, led organizations through a strategic merger and conducted strategic planning processes. She currently serves on three working non-profit boards, through which she manages the fundraising and membership programs for the Winnisquam Watershed Network, the client development function for the Community Consulting Teams Boston and the governance strategy for the Sacred Heart University Center for Non-Profits. She is also the Vice Chair/chair-elect for the United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut.

Lyn holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. Originally from Massachusetts, she now resides in Connecticut and New Hampshire. She is married with two grown children and two cats. She enjoys outdoor sports, traveling and reading and doing food rescues in her local community.
