Lisa Deane

Lisa is an experienced leader committed to advancing organizational excellence through creativity and building engagement.  Her collaborative leadership style has advanced organizations through leading teams, supporting boards and board committees and in serving as a board member and officer for non-profit service and charitable organizations as well as professional associations.  She has spent her professional career and volunteer efforts advising leaders at all levels on developing and aligning strategy and translating strategy to action.  This commitment to operating highly functioning and strategic organizations has included teaching on the topic.

Lisa’s decades of experience serving as an association executive have focused on the delivery of programs and services and business operations to support the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.  Areas of expertise include developing staff to ensure optimal organizational effectiveness; project and program development and implementation; program and service value analysis to ensure an expected return on investment and engaging staff and other stakeholders to effectuate sustainable organizational change.  Lisa led the creation of a division from 14 siloed departments to an integrated and collaborative team with a common vision focused on service and sizable revenue generation. Upon assuming leadership of a continuing legal education division, Lisa turned a division experiencing financial loss to a significant organizational profit center.  

Developing and executing on strategy that engages all ranks of an organization has been the secret sauce to keeping employee turn-over low and invested employees high.  Described by colleagues as an idea person with the ability to effectuate a call to action, Lisa’s training in social work and law offers the combination of keen analytical skills with empathy to promote a supportive culture while ensuring placement of the right people in the right positions.

Since her recent retirement Lisa has provided consulting services including strategic and business plan development and organizational program evaluation.   She has also facilitated meetings including a chief executive leader roundtable discussion and developed and facilitated a medical expert-judicial officer collaborative series in ten states focused on supporting long-term recovery for those with substance use disorders.

Lisa’s extensive board service includes serving as president for the international Association of Continuing Legal Education and being a member of the National Association of Bar Executives and the Arizona Women Lawyers Association.  Lisa currently serves as board member and overseer of the strategic plan for the Back-to-School Clothing Drive, a charitable non-profit focused on supporting Title 1 children and on the Arizona Judicial College Board overseeing judicial education.  Along with a career-long commitment to education directed at running optimal organizations, Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire and JD from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce Law Center.
