Barbara Fields is an innovative and seasoned executive with a successful track record of building and motivating teams to improve organizational performance. She has extensive experience in both the nonprofit and government sectors. Barbara founded and led the Rhode Island office of LISC, a national community development intermediary, for 20 years; responsible for fundraising and investing grants, loans and equity to create affordable housing, mixed-use developments, childcare facilities, and community-police partnerships as well as investing in the growth of nonprofits. She has strong operational, financial and program management expertise and is a creative and entrepreneurial leader who can work with stakeholders, build consensus and get results that increase impact and improve the bottom line.
Barbara served as an Obama-appointed Regional Administrator for HUD; led Rhode Island Housing, the state’s $2 billion housing finance agency; and most recently was CEO at the Greater Worcester Community Foundation where she led the effort to raise over $12 million in COVID-19 relief funds. Barbara has a BA from Tufts University and an MCP from MIT. She is active civic and industry leader and serves on numerous boards.
