An experienced CEO and committed supporter of community based non profit organizations, Stephanie brings practical solutions and passionate perspectives to any work she undertakes.
Stephanie has been involved with nonprofit businesses for her entire career. From small community zoos to national health care organizations, her experience has given her a great appreciation for the people, processes and policies that make mission-based work possible. Strengthening all of these through setting clear strategies, deepening connections with staff and donors and creating clear procedures has been the focus of her leadership as a CEO and Interim CEO.
Stephanie has lead organizations through mergers, massive systems transformations, and rapid growth and is very familiar with the federated model of national governance. She understands and has managed both 501C3 and 501C4 organzations and is familiar with the organizational structures that allow these types of nonprofits to align thier work for the mission.
Stephanie builds internal and external communication systems to strengthen organizational infrastructure and to ensure every decision is supported with the right information and data. Engaging staff and board members to understand the various forces impacting an organization and then sharing insights and opportunities back to groups has been a key method for improving performance and stability.
As a CEO, she was a frequent key note speaker at galas, house parties, rallies and group meetings. Her media appearances include the New York Times, Rolling Stone magazine, The New Yorker, The Washington Post and dozens of local papers and radio programs. She has trained numerous Board and staff leaders on how to be effective amassadors for the mission. During her career she has been a part of several crisis communication teams dealing with issues of both business and cultural crisis.
